Mensola a costo 0 - Supercheap diy shelf

Io e Alessandra di Nodi d'Autore, in tour, ci divertiamo un sacco. Qualche tempo fa, in un negozio di bricolage abbiamo adocchiato uno scatolone pieno di scarti di tagli di legno. L'addetto al taglio ci ha detto che li avrebbero buttati! Fine della storia: la scatola è tornata a casa con noi.

C'è sempre qualcosa da fare con dei ritagli di legno.

Ho realizzato una mini mensola fai da te con un rettagolo 10x20cm. 

Per prima cosa l'ho levigato ben bene, poi ho passato della cera per mobili per agevolarne la pulizia.

Me and Nodi d'Autore, on tour, have lots of fun. Some time ago, in a DIY store, we espyed a box full of wood wastes. The man assigned to the cutting of wood said the wastes would be thrown away. End of the story: the box has come home with us. There's always something to do with wood!

I made a tiny DIY shelf with a 10x20cm rectangle.

First I sanded it well and then I gave one coat of wax in order to make the cleaning easier.

What you need

• Taglio rettangolare di legno          
  Wood rectangle

• Fettuccia di un colore a scelta
  Zpaghetti yarn

• Metro
  Meter

• Matita
  Pencil

• Trapano
   Drill

Procedimento

Per prima cosa ho segnato con la matita due punti su ogni estremità del rettangolo. Ho lasciato dai bordi orizzontali uno spazio di 1,5cm.

First I signed two points for each end of the rectangle. I left 1,5cm from the border.

Con il trapano, ho realizzato quattro fori in corrispondenza dei segni.

With the drill, I obtained four holes.

Ho tagliato due fili di fettuccia di 85 cm ciascuno. 

Ogni filo corrisponde ad due fori posti sullo stesso lato del rettangolo. Ogni capo di un filo deve passare in un foro. Se i fori risultano troppo stretti potete aiutarvi spingendo la fettuccia con un utensile appuntito o, meglio, potete utilizzare un ago da lana.

I cut two 85cm long zpaghetti yarns. 

Each yarn corresponds to two holes on the same side of the rectangle. Each yarn's end has to pass through a hole. If the holes are too close you can push the yarn inside with a pointed object or, even better, you can use a knitting needle.

Ho fatto fuoriuscire 10 cm di filo da ogni foro e realizzato due nodi, uno sull'altro.

I let 10cm of yarn out of the wood and made 2 knots, one on the other.

Alla fine, ho fissato due ganci alla parete ed appeso la mensola. Ho controllato con una livella che fosse in piano e sistemato in ordine decrescente le matrioske (tutte meno una) con cui giocherellavo da piccola, a casa dei nonni.

Then, I fixed two hooks to the wall and hanged the shelf. I checked it was flat by a level and arranged in descending order my matrioskas (all but one), with which I used to play when I was little, in the grandparents' house.

Tiriamo le somme.

Per questa mensola ho speso solo 6€ (costo all'ingrosso della bobina di fettuccia).

Puoi reperire il legno gratuitamente in una falegnameria o in un negozio di bricolage (purchè ve lo lascino fare!).

La fettuccia può essere ricavata da una vecchia t-shirt, un leggings una tuta o un costume da bagno. In questo modo andreste ad portare il costo del progettino a zero.

For this DIY I spent 6€ (price for the yarn).

You can find wood for free in a carpentry or in a DIY store (as long as you're allowed to take it). The yarn is easily obtainable from old t-shirts, leggings, a tracksuit or a swimsuit. In this way, the cost for the shelf will be zero.
