Wood addiction - Il legno non mi basta mai

Il legno non mi basta mai. Sì, lo so, vi avevo detto che ormai in cucina dovevo smettere di aggiungere elementi in legno, ma non posso farne a meno. Poi ci si mette anche il fato, che fa in modo che io trovi nella cantina dalle mille risorse, oggetti interessanti e particolari, che rispondono totalmente ai miei gusti.

Il fato sa che per me lasciarli all'abbandono sarebbe un peccato mortale e di conseguenza mi "costringe" ad utilizzarli, almeno a scopo decorativo.

Gli ultimi vintage finds sono utensili da cucina (se non l'aveste ancora capito, in legno) appartenuti ai miei nonni. 

Non ho resistito. Li ho lavati per benino e sistemati in cucina.
Wood is never enough. Yes, I know, I told you that I would stopped adding wooden items in my kitchen, but I can't avoid it. Moreover, the fate makes things harder letting me find in the neverending canteen interesting and particular objects, totally responding to my tastes.
Fate knows that, for me, leaving them abandoned would mean a mortal sin so it "forces" me to use it, at least for home decorating.
The last vintage founds are kitchen tools (if you've not yet figured out, made of wood) belonged to my grandparents.
I couldn't resist. I cleaned them well and placed in the kitchen.

Il fanta-tagliere (mi sembra un appellativo più che adatto) si trovava in un angolo remoto del ripiano di uno scaffale. Non escludo che sia stato dipinto a mano. Il colore è evidentemente intaccato dagli anni. I manici, invece, sono ancora intatti, così come la struttura del legno. Io lo trovo divertentissimo.
The fanta-chopping board (I think it's the best appellation) was in a far corner of a shelf. I can't exclude it was handmade painted. The pic is clearly corroded by its age, but handles still intact as the wood structure. I find it so funny!

L'ho accostato ad un altro tagliere, che mia nonna usava per stendere la pasta. Purtroppo si è rovinato molto, e non è più adatto per lavorarci a causa di tagli profondi e segni dei tarli. Non volevo lasciarlo andare, non sono pronta. Non li utilizzerò per cucinare, ma voglio viverli. Così li ho accostati al frigo, per rompere la perfezione e l'aspetto ordinato di quel pannello bianco.
I've combined it with another board my grandma used to roll out pasta. Unfortunately it is really ruined, so that it isn't suitable for work because of woodworms marks and other cuts.
I didn't want to let it go, I'm not ready for this. I won't use it to cook, but I want to live them. So I supported them towards the fridge, to break the perfection and the order of that white panel.

Il mortaio si trovava in un piccolo scaffale zeppo di altri oggetti interessanti da salvare (uno alla volta). 
The mortar was in a small shelf full of other things to save (one at the time).

Ora è sulla cappa, accanto al sale ed alla paprika. Mi piace il contrasto che crea con l'acciaio e con il candore degli armadietti.

Now it's on the shelf, near salt and hot pepper. I like the contrast it creates with steel and with the cabinet's candor.

Non sempre riusciamo a ripristinare i vintage finds al loro uso originario. Valutiamo sempre la possibilità di assegnargli un utilizzo differente, o se preferiamo, pura funzione decorativa.

It's not always possible to reset vintage items to its original function. We have to value the hypothesis to assign it to a different adhibition, or, if we prefer, use it as home decor.
